Yesterday was hill training with the Ultimate Warriors and Seaton Trail Mud Puppies. This time, it was not as cold as it was last weekend, although it was still nippy out.
Our Hogg's Hollow route was actually in good condition. The city had the snow removal operation in progress clearing the sidewalks of some of the excess snow, and the salt provided good traction. The turnout for the run was great and spirits were high. We did 10 segments of the hills this week. In two weeks, the number will go up to 12. Once complete loop (4 segments from traffic light-to-traffic light at the top of each segment) is roughly 4.5 miles, in addition to the half mile warm up getting there.
After the run, we all gathered together at the Richtree Marche for some breakfast and social time. I'll tell you, a strawberry crepe with chocolate will always taste good. Topic of the day - Who applied to run Badwater and what alternates are there if Badwater is not meant to be for this year. It turns out that our Iris placed her bid. We are all waiting in anticipation for February 16th, when the list will be available...
