It just kept snowing and snowing and snowing... We got yet another dumping of the fresh white stuff. This round started last night and went right through to this afternoon. On a positive note, the temperature rose to -3C today. This was an opportunity of a lifetime at this moment - an opportunity to get a run in, of course.
I decided that I needed to rest so I allowed myself to remain in bed until about 9h00. After slowly going through my morning routine and getting myself organised, I set out about noon. I wanted to get in at least two hours and the original route I planned would have given me that. I also wanted to ensure that I made it home on time to get to Kula Yoga for a practise this afternoon.
When I got out, I soon discovered that while the temperature was great for running, the road and sidewalk conditions were not. I was reduced to a slow trot and was putting in a lot of effort just to keep moving. However, I felt great and I just kept going. I had to change my route option to a shorter route because of the conditions. Although the sidewalks were plowed, they were still a challenge, especially as the snow kept falling. By the time I got home, I noted that I was out for an hour and a half. Measuring it, I was disappointed to learn that I only ran 10K. Oh well, better conditions can only mean that I would have gone longer. For now, I will be satisfied that I was able to get out there and put in a quality workout which will pay dividends in the spring.

And when I got onto my street, look who decided to pay a visit and give me an opportunity to work on my upper body strength...
