Holding Space

This quote constantly reminds me of what it truly is like to hold space for one another. As I look at this, and read the message presented, I am reminded of all the times that space has been held for me, even if I felt like I was not worthy of that space. 

As I look as this message and really read it for what it is, I think of one of my best friends who has really come through for me - through thick and thin.  I remember the times I rode the GO Train with Manley and Dave, two of the crew members who have come to be two of my dearest friends.  We had many conversations together on and off the train.  I remember the time that they gave me their numbers and encouraged me to reach out for support.  We have - and continue to have - an awesome friendship among the three of us.  We are constantly checking in with each other, and holding space where space needed to be held.  Although Dave doesn't really keep up with Manley and I, we continue to hold space for him until he gets back in touch.  

I am forever grateful to the vast majority of friends in my life who in their own way has held space for me in my life.  I often do not feel like I am worthy of the support that is handed to me but in the end, there is something to be said for that extra support.  The extra support and love is quite comforting.  While I am often quick to offer support, I acknowledge that I need to learn how to let people in and accept the support that I receive.
