Hmm... I think we have all been here before... Quite enlightening to say the least. I can totally see myself through the eyes of this beginner in the video below. I can remember only wanting to get a good stretch in so that I would remain injury free throughout my running days. In body, yes... However, somewhere in the process, my mind decided to speak to me and remind me that it also needed some attention.
While it was being stimulated intellectually, the emotional side was neglected. It was yoga that helped release that side. There are certain asanas - particularly hip openers and backbends that really create that sense of release. To really invoke the release, the instructor also has to say the right words at the right time in order to guide the release of the untapped emotions. It may seem ugly at first but when it's all done, there is a sense of calm and peace.
The overall result for me - I am now willing to tap into that growing edge and go beyond my comfort zone while acknowledging that it is what it is. I can do this without changing my values and inspire others to do the same thing.
It is all said in this video and it is said quite well. See yourself from the eyes of the beginner and the message will be there for you. It not only happens on the mat, it also happens off the mat.
Namaste...
