We are now into the wee hours of Christmas morning... Merry Christmas to you readers!
This week has been really good to me where activity was concerned and I am really looking forward to keeping up the momentum.
Sunday Afternoon
Before heading into the city with my mother, I made it to Kula where I did my weekly Ashtanga Primary Series class. Since I had missed the past few weeks of yoga, I was feeling it where tightness was concerned. Also, my mat was very slippery after washing it and I had to use my skidless towel to keep from slipping. I will attempt to wash the mat again with a different detergent and see if it makes a huge difference.
Monday was designated a rest day because I was fighting a serious headache due to the drop in air pressure outside...
Tuesday Evening
I visited Element Crossfit for the WOD. Since they were doing kettlebells and ring dips, I figured I would join in.
Wednesday Night
I completed a CrossFit workout at the Y under Lorene's watchful eye.
All week, I have realised something - food really does affect the mood. I have noticed that for the entire month, my sugar intake has really taken a leap. As a result, I have paid for it by feeling the effects of the imbalances within my body - both physically and emotionally. With so many goodies being placed before you, it is very hard to resist. In fact, I have not done many abdominal workouts because my stomach has been feeling the effects. I will be revisiting my diet at the end of the holidays and seeing where I can further improve. For now, I will be making an attempt to cut back on some of the undesireable foods that have been reintroduced to my body and maintaining physical activity as much as possible.

I visited Element Crossfit for the WOD. Since they were doing kettlebells and ring dips, I figured I would join in.
21 SquatsI'll tell you - it was my first time doing proper ring dips and swinging a kettlebell. There is definitely a difference between swing a kettlebell and swinging a dumbell. I managed to complete seven rounds and was 16 squats into the eighth round when time ran out. I was also starting to really feel it because of the lingering headache. In fact, I began to feel nauseated after the workout and had to skip running the planned errands and head straight home where I had a cup of miso soup before heading to bed.
12 Ring Dips
21 Kettlebell Swings 1.5p/1p
As many rounds as possible in 20 minutes.
Wednesday Night
I completed a CrossFit workout at the Y under Lorene's watchful eye.
21-18-15-12-9-6-3Once that was completed, I stretched before showering and heading out to help Lorene celebrate her 50th birthday before stopping off at the grocery for last minute baking goods.
Deadlifts 135#/95# (set weight for me was 70#)
Pullups (ended up using the machine because the main pull up bar was dismantled and I had no straps)
Box Jumps 20"/16"
