Sunday - Spinning Back into Action

This past weekend was not to be the greatest weekend ever where activity was concerned. For one thing, I was still trying to fight the tiredness that I have been feeling for the past week and a bit. This has caused some lack of motivation for me. While my friends were logging up to 40km, I was at home trying to kick myself into action.

On Sunday, around 18h00, I finally said to myself "Let's go". I changed into my cycling clothes, prepped the water bottle and snacks, grabbed my bike kit and hit the road around 18h30. I picked a simple out and back route because I wanted to be back before sunset. I rode west towards the Niagara Escarpment, turning back just before the hills in that section. It felt great to be in the country riding along a road that had no impact from construction this time around. I felt powerful and driven - like I could go on forever...

At the halfway point - taking a breather before turning back.

Looking towards Mount Nemo on the way out.

A brief stop at Drumquin Park also included this place

Preparing for takeoff...

And he's up and flying!

Getting ready to head back on the road towards home. This was after having a great chat with one of the flying club members about the ins and outs of flying model airplanes, as well as photography.

I arrived at home promptly at sunset as planned. After arriving home, I quickly hauled my bike inside, grabbed my runners, and went outside to finish off the workout with a 3.5k run within the neighbourhood. I was really happy to get this done. my quads were burning but there was satisfaction in knowing that I got the workout I was craving.
