Getting Back Into the Swing of Things - Crossfit Tuesday

After suffering with the head cold that didn't seem to want to escape, I finally muscled up enough determination to get to the gym last night. My head seemed to be a lot clearer and the light-headed feeling that I had on Monday seemed to have passed.

Lorene and I chatted for quite a bit when I got there. Lorene has been really sick with an infection that does not seem to really want to go away. She was working away and feeling really run down. Needless to say, there is to be no pool running or swimming for the week. I didn't really feel like starting my workout right away. It took almost an hour before I finally got the courage to get into my workout.

I started off with a one kilometre warm up around the track before getting into the Crossfit WOD which was as follows: 5x800m splits with each split timed.

Because the measurements on the track at the gym were odd, I had to do my best to guess how far to run for 800m. I settled for 6.25 laps for every 800m. The splits were as follows:

Split 1 - 3:32.66
Split 2 - 3:46.75
Split 3 - 3:41.47
Split 4 - 3:41.31
Split 5 - 3:37.49

I walked around the track to recover between the splits. I was really pleased to see that I was averaging even splits throughout. It did instill some confidence in me.

After completing the set, I did some core work and rolled my legs with the foam roller before calling it a night and heading home.
