Last night marked the annual Earth Hour event where from 20h30 to 21h30 people from all over the globe dim their lights. The purpose of this event is to bring about environmental awareness.
There was a small concert that took place at Kula Yoga. The performers were a band led by Ram Vakkalanka. The instruments used were the traditional instruments used in India - the sitar, the tanpura, and the tabla. For an hour and a half, we were all seated on the floor listening to some of the Indian classics and also chanting. Some people were also meditating as the music was playing. All of this was done by candlelight.
Here are a couple photos that I took during the concert. Because of the lighting, most of the pictures did not come out great. These two are the best photos I took.

Once again, Ram and his crew did a fantastic job with the performances. He has not failed to impress us. We all walked out of Kula with a greater sense of calm and lightness. Ram was also selling CDs. "Sitar by the Ocean" promises to bring a sense of relaxation. I have purchased a copy of the CD and I cannot wait to listen to it as I start to build my meditation practise.
Namaste...
